Hello Again

Once upon a time, i could spend hours on end on the internet searching for God knows what but now it seems so much like a chore better left alone...
I've been busy traveling and working. totally forgot about my jewelry blog but i plan to make up for it now that i've sorted out my modem. Hopefully, i'll get a camera soon so i can take better pictures of work for y'all to see. For now, please manage the grainy pictures taken with my blackberry camera.

For new gist: i'm developing a new collection i have decided to name "deja vu". The name was chose because it calls to mind a previous collection i showed in February though, it's not quite the same. Collection was inspired by all those chunky gold jewelry worn in my all time favourite movie 'coming to America' and it takes you all the way back to the 80s... I plan to reveal the collection at the end of november or early december but just so you all have an idea what you will be seeing, here are a few pictures of the steps taken to produce the jewelry.

First, i take a piece of 18guage wire and turn it into this shape using either the largest jump ring maker for round or round nose pliers for the oblong shape. Then link the hard wires to make a chain of the desired lenght and or style.

Next, i wrap around the pre-shaped wires one at a time with 26guage wires, being careful not to let the wires overlap until i achieve this.
Now, this is what many who saw my february collection may have seen.
Below is one of the new twists (amongst many) added to create the new collection.

Swarovski crystals, pearls and some more semi-precious stones inside the links to create that extra bit of sparkle one needs too turn heads...
So, are you now as excited as i am about showing it? Believe me, the actual work is stunning! Hard work but worth it all at the end.

Next, i'll post tips on how to fix those small damages that happen to jewelry... Until then, please know that you can now purchase Didi Rose jewelry from www.jumia.com and have it delivered absolutely free to you wherever you might be in Nigeria.

Cheerios...
Bennie
